⚫︎ Bungie’s request to dismiss a copyright lawsuit was turned down because the relevant in-game content, now stored in the Destiny Content Vault, is not available. The lawsuit, filed by writer Matthew Kelsey Martineau, argues that the Red Legion faction in Destiny 2 is significantly similar to a faction he described in his earlier published works.
The judge decided that Bungie couldn’t properly counter the claims without access to the vaulted material, bringing up legal issues related to live-service games and the availability of older content.

Since the related campaign content has been moved to the Destiny Content Vault, Bungie tried to use YouTube lore videos as evidence—but the judge refused to accept more than 10 hours of video explanations.

The same bug also affected some older swords that were previously restricted to certain classes.
After an internal check, Bungie chose not to reverse the change, making it a permanent part of the game.
