Palworld Mobile: Closed Alpha Test Launches in December

On November 13, KRAFTON JAPAN had one of the most awaited announcements among mobile gamers. The open-world survival and creature-collecting blockbuster by Pocket Pair, titled Palworld, is going to start its closed Alpha test this December, and applications are also now open for those who are eligible.

The game carries significant pedigree: it's developed by PUBG STUDIOS, the creative team behind the global hit PUBG: Battlegrounds, under official IP authorization from Pocket Pair. For those who might have played this on PC, this mobile version retains the core magic that lured over 32 million players worldwide. It contains fan-favorite features such as capturing and rearing mysterious creatures called "Paru," surviving in an unforgiving open world, and building custom bases where the Paru will help players with various tasks ranging from resource gathering to crafting equipment.

The announcement dropped earlier today, confirming that the beta test is now underway. It follows last month's reveal that Krafton secured the rights to develop the mobile version of the Paru IP. And now, with testing live and details coming in fast, the mobile title's shaping up to be more than just another adaptation - it looks like a serious expansion of the franchise.

What sets Palworld mobile apart isn't just faithful replication-it's mobile-first innovation. The team has optimized touch controls for smooth gameplay, refining targeting and skill activation to fit fingertip interactions. Exclusive to mobile is the "Player Paru Skill System," which lets players slot Paru into skill bars for tactical combat combinations; a cooperative multiplayer plaza to team up with friends; and specially designed boss challenges tailored to on-the-go play rhythms. The device requirements are accessible too: Android users need at least a Galaxy S9, while iOS players require an iPhone 12 or higher; recommended for both are a Galaxy S20+ and an iPhone 14+, respectively.

The closed Alpha test is hot on the heels of the game’s debut at G-STAR 2025, a gaming exhibition being held in South Korea. The booth saw massive crowds, with wait times for hands-on demos reaching 150 minutes – a testament to the IP’s popularity. The intuitive controls translated seamlessly from PC gameplay, and the depth of the new skill system drew praise from early testers. This test is currently limited to players in Japan and South Korea only, with no word yet on a future phase expansion onto global territories.

It's relatively easy to apply if one is in the eligible region.  Applications are received on the official Palworld mobile website, and the window opened from November 13th to November 26th. Selected applicants will be notified individually with instructions on how to access the game. With the helm of PUBG STUDIOS and a strong start to the testing cycle, Palworld is looking set to become one of the most talked-about mobile titles over the next few months. KRAFTON wants players to know that feedback is important: it will take what it learns from this test and use it to tune balance, performance, and social features ahead of the game's eventual launch. The franchise's combination of survival, exploration, and raising creatures already captured players' interest on other platforms, and now it is gearing up for an entirely new life on mobile.

Paru mobile merges the proven appeal of its PC predecessor with thoughtful mobile tweaks and exclusive content. Helmed by PUBG STUDIOS, it’s poised to bring the unique mix of cute creatures, strategic survival, and cooperative play to a new audience-one pocket-sized adventure at a time.
